Payment Terminals

Payment terminals for business - a card reader at the counter

Register your physical card reader - Nayax, Dejavoo or Tranzila - and take payment with it at the register, for a booking deposit hold, or directly on the device the app runs on.

What a payment terminal is in Lynxbe

A payment terminal is the physical card reader at the register - today Nayax (including the F20 model), Dejavoo (the Q3 model) and Tranzila are supported. You register it once for the business, with a provider and a connection type: local network (LAN), the Lynxbe app running directly on the terminal (F20 or Q3), or Nayax Spark in the cloud. Once registered, the reader shows up as a device choice on the charge screens - checkout or booking deposit hold - and three actions that talk to the device itself (connection check, retailer check and end-of-day settlement) go straight from the app to the reader's local address, never through Lynxbe's servers.

What a payment terminal actually does

Register a card reader per branch

Add a reader with a provider - Nayax, Tranzila or Dejavoo - and a connection type: a local network address, the app running directly on the terminal, or Nayax Spark in the cloud. Every reader belongs to one business and to role permissions, and more than one reader can be registered at once.

Charge by card at checkout with a terminal receipt

At checkout, pick card payment and the app sends the amount to the registered reader, showing a terminal receipt with the transaction number once approved. If the business has more than one reader, a device picker opens first.

The app itself as the card reader

When the app runs directly on a Nayax F20 or Dejavoo Q3 terminal, no extra network reader is needed - checkout charges on the device it is running on, and the checkout screen detects this and defaults to it.

Card deposit hold for a booking

Bookings can place a card deposit hold through Nayax Spark - freezing an amount without charging it yet - and later complete the actual charge or cancel the hold if the booking falls through.

Connection check and end-of-day settlement at the reader

The reader management screen offers a connection check, a retailer check, and a settle-transactions action that runs the day's approved transactions against the card company. All three go straight from the app to the reader's local address, not through our server.

Several readers, one device picker

Register several card readers for the business. At the register and for deposit holds a picker lists every reader and you choose which device takes the payment. Viewing and managing readers is controlled by role permissions.

FAQ

Payment terminals FAQ

Which payment terminals can connect to Lynxbe+
Three providers are supported in the reader registration form: Nayax (including the F20 model, both over a local network and through Nayax Spark in the cloud), Dejavoo (the Q3 model, with the app running directly on it) and Tranzila (over a local network). Adding a new provider requires building an adapter - this is a real protocol integration, not a cosmetic list.
How does a card charge at checkout work with the terminal+
You pick card payment at checkout, the app sends the amount to the registered reader - whether it is on the local network or the app is running directly on it - and shows a terminal receipt with the transaction number once approved. An unclear answer from the reader is never resent automatically; the app checks the earlier attempt's outcome first.
Can I hold a card deposit without charging it yet+
Yes, through Nayax Spark on bookings: you place a hold on a card amount, then later complete the actual charge or cancel the hold if the booking does not happen. This depends on the Spark provider and is not available on every connection type.
What happens when a business has more than one card reader+
Checkout and the deposit-hold screen both open a device picker listing every reader registered to the business, and you choose which one to charge on. There is no automatic flagging today of a reader with a bad connection before you pick it.
How do I cancel or refund a card payment taken on the terminal+
Cancelling before the charge completes - for example a deposit hold that was not captured - is done on the reader itself. A refund on a sale that was already closed and paid by card goes through Lynxbe Pay online clearing, not as a separate action on the physical device.
Which plan includes connecting a payment terminal+
Payment terminals are part of the payments module, included in the Lynxbe Growth, Pro, Enterprise and Restaurant plans, and also in the standalone Pay Only plan. Permissions to view and manage the reader list are controlled separately by role.
